Job Summary
The Manager role at Sykes & Company, P.A. is expected to lead the client relationship. They are also expected to collaborate and lead the Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants. Managers collaborate with the team to ensure we meet client expectations and deadlines. Managers are responsible for the preparation but mainly review of sales tax, financial statements, 1099s, property tax returns, and payroll addbacks.
Success is defined by:
- Preparing and overviewing prepared or compiled financial statements
- Preparing and overviewing various tax returns
- Preparing and overviewing sales and use tax returns
- Preparing and overviewing 1099s, payroll addbacks, property tax returns
- Taking ownership and providing proactive and engaged leadership for the client and team
- Managing client relationships and assisting as needed with questions and concerns
- A desire to learn and grow as the client advisor
- Collaborating with the team and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of accounting processes and procedures using the latest methods and technologies
- Possessing strong communication skills
- Ensuring quality control
- Assisting with special projects and accounting technology beta testing
Key qualifications of an ideal Manager include:
- CPA License preferred, not required
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills
- Ability to complete general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process utilizing QuickBooks®
- QBO Certification preferred, not required
