Job Summary

The Senior Manager role at Sykes & Company, P.A. is a leadership role. Senior Managers will lead the Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, and Managers in terms of workloads, processes, client deliverables and success metrics. Senior Managers also lead the client relationship and advisory guidance. Clients will routinely call upon the Senior Manager for guidance and questions that are important to them. Your ability to build the client relationship and lead them in terms of tax and/or industry guidance and advisory is very important. You will be responsible for the final overview of prepared financial statements. You will also be responsible for tax planning, preparation, and/or overview of various tax returns.

  • Preparing and overviewing prepared or compiled financial statements
  • Preparing and overviewing various tax returns
  • Preparing and overviewing tax planning
  • Providing proactive Client Advisory services
  • Taking ownership of client and team relationships
  • Collaborating with the team and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of accounting processes and procedures using the latest methods and technologies
  • Possessing ability to provide proactive, responsive, and consistent communication
  • Ensuring quality control
  • Willingness to assist in specialty areas in tax and/or pharmacy buying and selling transactions
  • Ability to manage workload and work with a variety of clients
  • Willingness to be a mentor to other team members

Key qualifications of an ideal Senior Manager include:

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting
  • CPA License
  • Experience with individual, corporate, and partnership tax and tax planning
  • Knowledge of the tax code, compliance, and procedures
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills
  • Responsive communication skills
  • Ability to complete general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process utilizing QuickBooks®
  • Lacerte tax software experience preferred
