Sophie recently joined Sykes & Company, P.A. and she will be working in the area of retail pharmacy accounting. Sophie graduated from Bluefield College in Virginia with a B.S. degree in Organizational Management and Development. She received her Virginia CPA certification in 2003 and she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Sophie has experience in retail store accounting/payroll, country club membership accounting, and inventory cost accounting in the tobacco industry.
New to Edenton, Sophie is looking forward to getting involved in the local community and becoming an active member of her church. When not at work Sophie and her husband like to travel both in the U.S and abroad, particularly to places of historical interest. Sophie also enjoys cooking (especially baking), gardening, and working on stained glass projects.
Julie’s straightforward tax numbers and solid advice give her clients peace of mind and time to spend focused on their customers and personal lives.
Julie joined Sykes & Company, P.A. in January 1988 and a decade later became a shareholder.
Julie has experience working with tax preparation, reviews and compilations, tax planning, and financial statement review for individuals and pharmacies.
She is dedicated to the success of all Sykes’ clients and helps to educate them about tax issues to strengthen their business.
Julie likes to see Sykes take the burden off their clients by doing their accounting work so that they can spend more time with their families and communities.
In addition to the impeccable quality of Julie’s number, she often serves as a sounding board for clients to help them decrease their tax burden.
Julie is a Certified Public Accountant and received her B.S. in Accounting from Elizabeth City State University in May 1990, and her Associates in Applied Science in Business Administration Technology from College of the Albemarle in May 1985.
Julie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, where she has served as secretary/treasurer, and is a past vice president of the Albemarle Outer Banks chapter. She is also involved with other community organizations. She enjoys being with her family and is involved in church activities and recreation sport activities with her nephew and grandchildren.
When new retail independent pharmacy clients join Sykes & Company, Bonnie is the point person who works with the setup and transition of those clients. In addition, she’s experienced in tax preparation for both individuals and corporations, as well as financial statement preparation and reviews. Bonnie joined the Sykes & Company team in 2005 and quickly settled into the firm’s client-focused culture.
- Bonnie helps clients set up systems that provide trustworthy numbers when they need them. She can create high level overviews and detailed daily information depending on each client’s individual requirements.
- She stays informed about the latest up to date technology to give clients results that are efficient and accessible.

Bonnie received her B.S. in Accounting from North Carolina State University in 2004 and her Master’s in Business Administration in 2005 from East Carolina University. She received her Certified Public Accountant’s certification in 2008. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Outside of Sykes & Company, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids as well as staying involved in her community.
Teresa knows that numbers are crucial to financial success so, in addition to their precisions, she makes sure her clients understand what the numbers mean in real-world terms.
Teresa began her career working in tax preparation for H & R Block and this gave her a broad base of experience in guiding a wide variety of people through the ins and outs of personal and business taxation. She joined Sykes & Company, P.A. in early 1997. In addition to tax preparation, she has experience in quarterly payroll reporting and financial statement preparation.
- When Teresa puts together client financial statements or taxes, they can count on the certainty of her number and her ability to deliver them on or before the deadline.

Katie is experienced in tax preparation for individuals and corporations. She obtained her CPA license in Massachusetts in 2011 and joined Sykes & Company, P.A. in 2012.

Katie graduated from San Diego State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Accounting. She graduated from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management in August 2011 with a Master of Science in Industrial Administration (MSIA). She’s a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of CPAs. Her husband serves in the U.S. Coast Guard and as a result they’ve lived across the U.S. from coast to coast including: Oregon, Alaska, California, Massachusetts, Indiana and North Carolina.
Megan received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 and her M.S. in Accountancy degree from East Carolina University in 2011. She was licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners in 2014. Megan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the North Carolina Associate of CPAs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors.
Combining right and left brain, Wanda is known for her client service as well as her gift with numbers.
Wanda has always enjoyed math and especially algebra. Instead of going into teaching, her family suggested she try accounting and it was an immediate fit. She has been with Sykes & Company, P.A. since its inception and became a shareholder in 1985. Wanda works primarily in tax—preparing and reviewing tax returns for independent pharmacies.
- In addition to the analytical side of her job, she enjoys the opportunities she has to grow with the firm. She appreciates the way the firm is innovative and stays on the cutting edge of technology and accounting practice.
- She’s known for being easygoing and friendly with her clients. She likes helping clients solve problems and often works with internal accounting personnel to keep bookkeeping running smoothly.

Wanda received her B.S. in Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. When she’s not at work, she’s often involved with Edenton Baptist Church where she serves as a deacon, treasurer, finance committee member, choir member, and was a past Sunday school teacher. She also enjoys attending sporting events, reading and spending time with family.

Linda joined Sykes & Company, P.A. as an associate in 1986 and in 1998 she became a shareholder. She devotes her time to tax matters, tax preparation and income tax planning for both individuals, businesses and pharmacies. She also has experience in tax preparation for estates, partnerships and trusts, as well as financial reporting for businesses.
- Linda is a strong believer in staying current with accounting best practices and participates annually in over 40 hours of continuing professional education in areas pertinent to her professional practice.
- She’s known for delivering numbers that are precise and straightforward when it comes to tax matters and other financial reports.

Linda graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986 with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She was licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners to practice as a CPA in 1989.
Linda has served as treasurer, vice president and president of the Albermarle Outer Banks chapter of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She served a three-year term from 1998-2001 as a member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Association of CPAs.

Ollin is intricately involved in all aspects of the business with a concentration in tax, business advisory services, and technology consulting for independent pharmacies and their owners. He got his start as a CPA in 1973 and within a few years began working with independent pharmacies. He became president of Sykes & Company, P.A. in 1985 when his previous firm split into two.
- Ollin is known for holding Sykes & Company to a high standard of professionalism and ensuring that someone is always available when clients need information.

Ollin has a B.S. in Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from Mars Hill College in 1972. He received his Certified Public Accountant’s certification in August 1975. He also received his Certified Management Accountant Certification under the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of the National Association of Accountants in April 1980.
Ollin is a member of the National Association of Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Community Pharmacists Association. He has served as president of the Albemarle Outer Banks Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Scotty’s focus within Sykes & Company, P.A. is working directly with pharmacy owners especially on pharmacy accounting, tax and advisory. He is also active in payroll, tax planning, individual tax preparation and corporate tax preparation for pharmacy owners and businesses. Scotty has written accounting and tax-related articles for America’s Pharmacist, the official magazine of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). He is a well-regarded speaker on pharmacy accounting and tax matters, and provides a progressive approach to operating a successful pharmacy. Scotty enjoys building strong relationships with pharmacy clients, third-parties and vendors. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Scotty received his Certified Public Accountant certification in August 2011 and his Certified Global Management Accounting certification in 2014. He received his B.S. in Business Administration and M.S. in Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
